Laundry and Maintenance Assistant– FCNMHP is one of the largest spay and neuter clinics in the country! We see on average 200 clients a day in our veterinary clinic, accumulating an exorbitant amount of laundry. It takes a lot of manpower to keep our linens clean and sterile for surgeries. When you assist with this very important job, it frees up our busy staff. The maintenance portion of this job includes tasks such as cleaning feral cat cages- another high-volume task that would take staff away from direct-care clinic duties.

Feral Cat/Kennel Assistant– As the Kennel Assistant, you will assist with feeding and watering animals and handling animals to and from kennels. This role helps the team process incoming feral cats (in cages) for spay/neuter surgery. This includes helping out in the Feral Cat Ward with sanitizing kennels, cleaning and filling cat food and water dishes, and keeping the ward clean in general for our furry patients. You will also help with cleaning the kennels and floors and walls of the Cat and Dog Wards. You must be able to lift 40 lbs individually and be comfortable around feces, urine, and feral cats. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate in this activity.

Feral Freedom is a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program. TNR is the most effective method for controlling feral cat population growth. Using this technique, community/feral cats living outside are trapped, spayed/neutered, ear-tipped (the universal symbol of a sterilized cat), and then returned to their outdoor home. To date, the Feral Freedom program has saved approximately 30,000 cats from being euthanized in city shelters. That means there are a lot of feral cats that come through our doors every day- and we need your help! The Cat Care Assistant helps the team process incoming feral cats (in cages) for spay/neuter surgery. This is a physical job and volunteers must be able to lift 10 pounds and able to remain active for the duration of the shift. This position is not suitable for pregnant women.

Veterinary Clinic/Hospital Assistant Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate in this activity. As the Veterinary Hospital Assistant, you will help with doing laundry, scanning documents for patients, opening syringe boxes, assembling e-collars, cleaning kennels, and other duties as assigned.
